- Day 1
- Arrival to Antalya, transfer to the hotel in Alanya.
Dinner and overnight in Alanya.
- Day 2 Alanya - Mersin
- After breakfast, we drive eastwards to Anamur and visiting
the well preserved Anamur Castle, dating back to the Roman and Byzantine age. Then driving
to Göksu (Kalikadnos in the antique time), where Fredrik Barbarosa was drowned. Drive
further to Mersin. Dinner and overnight in Mersin.
- Day 3 Mersin - Aksaray (Cappadocia)
- After breakfast, we drive through Tarsus, the birthplace
of Apostle St. Paul, and by the Taurus Mountain and arrive in Aksaray, located in the area
known as a the corn chamber of Turkey. Dinner and overnight in Aksaray.
- Day 4 Cappadocia
- After breakfast, a full day to visit Cappadocia starts.
Strolling around in this area full of fairy chimneys, visiting the churches and
monasteries carved into the soft rocks and the underground city, which could accommodate
up to 15.000 people. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.
- Day 5 Cappadocia - Antalya
- After breakfast, our first visit is to Sultanhan –
one of the best examples of the Seldjuki karavanserais built for accommodating the
travelling merchants and providing security for the trade routes. Later we drive to Konya
and visit the Mevlana Monastery – the monastery of whirling dervishes – and
Karatay Medrese, where finely made tiles are displayed. Our third visit is to St. Paul
Church. After a short bus tour round Konya, we depart for Antalya, passing by the Egridir
Lake, Beysehir Lake and driving through Taurus Mountains. Dinner and overnight in Antalya.
- Day 6 Antalya
- After breakfast, full day tour with visits to Perge,
Aspendos and Side, the three important Pamphyllian cities. The archaeological excavations
in Perge reveal a full picture of the wealth and splendour that once characterised the
great Pamphyllian city. Aspendos has one of the best preserved theatres of the ancient
world. Side, now one of Turkey’s major holiday centres, has a monumental theatre.
Marcus Antonius and Cleopatra are said to have met there. Dinner and overnight in Antalya.
- Day 7 Antalya
- After breakfast, a half- day sightseeing tour of Antalya.
Free time in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Antalya.
- Day 8
- Transfer to the airport.
